Condolence From: Francis Dowdall
Condolence: Sorry that in my message of condolence I erred in referring to Noel's Halifax bomber experience during WWII. Of course, it was the great Lancaster. Again sorry. Francis

Condolence: To the Shanks family. So sorry to learn that Noel has left us after a long and productive life. I recently watched the very interesting CBC documentary on the WWII Halifax bomber which was a big part of Noel's wartime experience. I grew up in Sharbot Lake and knew the Shanks family well. Arthur Shanks taught me to play chess. I have a 1937-1938 school photo which includes Bob, Noel, Rose and Adah Shanks and myself. Please accept my sincere condolences on your loss. Francis Dowdall

Condolence: I grew up near Sharbot Lake, and remember Mr. and Mrs. Shanks, Noel's parents, as the nicest couple. Mr. Shanks was a lay-reader at the church I attended. Although I never met any of the Shanks's family, I'm sure they were all wonderful people, having been raised by such an upstanding couple.

Condolence: So sorry to hear Noel is gone. He and Eileen were good friends with my parents Bob & Barb Warren. I grew up knowing Noel and spent time at my family cottage and ate many a Christmas dinner with them in Burlington. Noel was always so interested in my children and grandchildren even though we live in Prince Edward Island. He had a innate sense of curiosity and interest in so many things. He seemed happy with his move to the assisted living place. He shall be missed.

Condolence: Our sincere condolences to Noel's family. We have many great memories of Noel both at Air Canada and socially with many get-togethers especially the Murder Mystery Nights we had. We always had a great laugh when our group got together. Many good stories to be told. He was always positive and brightened our day. May he rest in peace.

Condolence: I wish to send my deepest condolence on the passing of Noel. Noel and my Dad, Mickey Mackay, worked together for many years at Air Canada in Montreal. Noel and Eileen were close friends of my Mom and Dad. Noel always was such an upbeat person with an amazing smile, which is how I will remember him. He lived and interesting and good life. May he rest in peace. Arlene (Mackay) Sleno

Condolence: As an Usher at the Sunday 9:00am Mass at St. Raphaels Church, I got to know what a fine gentleman Noel was. I had the pleasure of acknowledging Noel during a Remembrance Day Mass a few years ago. The congregation gave him a well deserved standing ovation as they recognized his service during and after WW11.
Rest in peace noel, we will miss you.
