Condolence: I was one of the lucky ones to have met John at walking soccer over the past year or so. What a lovely man he was, always positive, smiling and respectful of everyone around him. I sat next to John in changing room #2 after the games and got to know him and appreciate him through our weekly conversations and laughs. This week I had my chat with John in changing room #2 and I know he was smiling.

Condolence: My condolences to the family. John was a friend to mine from my first game of soccer which didn't happen untilI was in my early 40's. That's why I think he remembered me throughout the following years. Who could forget! John was always a welcoming voice to the game and was always a great inspiration and mentor to me for the game. John's presence both on and off the pitch was always a delight. I have many fond memories of a bit of time spent jawing about soccer after a game over a pint or two. John you will be sorely missed in our community at large and in particular in our soccer community. God Bless you John, may you rest peacefully in the comfort of our Lord.

Condolence: I have met many people, both on and off the soccer fields, since I came to Canada. Few, if any, made an impact on me like John. Whether playing with, or, against him, it was always a delight to see him, as he was so well respected and admired by everyone. I will certainly miss our lunches together, and, lengthy telephone conversations, enormously. An absolute gentleman, who I will always be grateful to be considered one of his friends. You will be sorely missed and never be forgotten.

Condolence: I was sorry to hear of what appears to be a sudden change in John's condition. I had often interacted with John through work years ago and always enjoyed our meetings as he was very personable and had a great sense of humour.
My sincere condolences to his wife Barbara and the family

Condolence From: Trudy Taylor-Fong
Condolence: I was so sorry to hear of John's passing. I met John at walking soccer. He was a true gentleman and I shall sincerely miss him. He was most welcoming to all of us ladies and was quick to offer advice and tips on how to improve our game in the most unoffensive way. His soccer skills were phenomenal and his stories always entertaining. He was always smiling , especially when regaling stories about his grandsons who he obviously adored. When my dad visited recently from the UK, he took time to chat with him and I am so grateful that they got to meet.
Unfortunately,I cannot be with you on Saturday but I wanted you to know that I will be there in spirit and I send my sincerest condolences to your family. Best Wishes Trudy
