My mother-in-law

Thirteen years ago this month, Joel introduced me to his Mum. He had invited us out for a fish and chip dinner, probably a Friday. She and I shook hands and enjoyed easy conversation over our meal, each learning a little bit about the other. We said good-bye that evening with a warm hug that marked the beginning of a loving friendship. Jean became my mother-in-law a few years later, and we shared a love that only the luckiest of women have with their husbands mother. On January 25, I said a final good-bye to my mother-in-law with a kiss and a gentle touch, and that marked a new beginning - one filled with happy, loving memories. Never, ever, forgotten Mum... I miss you.
