Dawson, Evelyn
Passed away peacefully at Pioneer Elder Care in St. Catharines, Ontario, on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at the age of 86. Proud wife and partner of Bill for 58 years. Loving mother of Dorothy Hunse (Cliff), Duncan (Sharonlee Evans) and David (Sharon). Cherished grandmother of Ed, Aidan and Brendan.
Ev's nursing career started in Regina where she trained at the Gray Nun's hospital, served in Campbell River on Vancouver Island, then Vancouver, Whitehorse, Ottawa, Regina and Hamilton.
As a registered nurse, Ev cared for mothers and infants in the field of Obstetrics. She will also be fondly remembered as a devoted friend to her community and as a long-time member of Knox Presbyterian Church in Burlington. The church choir will miss her voice. Ev loved to travel, garden, dance, sew, bake and entertain.
To honour Ev's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 461 Elizabeth Street, Burlington, on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 10:30 am. A reception will follow at the church. For those who wish, donations in memory of Ev to Knox Presbyterian Church would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
