Condolence: Mrs. Rickard, Stephen, Chris, Phil, Carol, Helen, Lisa, Graham, and extended family, my heartfelt condolences on the passing of your husband, father, and grandfather. Truly a good man, of which I will treasure so many memories of fun, laughter, and great stories. My parents, and, in turn, ourselves, shared a special bond and friendship with Derek and Sheila, and all the family, with many of their evenings spent together filled with fun, laughter, and conversation, often until the early hours of the morning. I'll remember the garden plot he had up at our farm, and his many painstaking hours spent growing and maintaining his various vegetables. Though we lost touch in years past, memories and friendships are never far from the heart, and I was very pleased and grateful to be invited to join you all to celebrate his last 'milestone' birthday. His love for Sheila, his family, his friends, and the friends of his children, was evident, and expressed on every meeting. His pride in the accomplishments of his family would make him absolutely beam with pleasure. Though I cannot be with you today, please rest assured that my thoughts are with you as you celebrate the life of a good man. May he rest well, and in peace.
