JOSEPH D. McGAVIN

Peacefully passed away at Joseph Brant Hospital on Friday March 3, 2017 at the age of 79 and will be sadly missed by his cherished family and friends.

Beloved husband to Joan (nee Makin), loving father to Alison De Luca (Justin) and Proud Pappy to Ryder and Lily. Devoted son of Joseph and Annie McGavin. Brother of Adam and the late Jim. Uncle to 12 nieces and nephews.

Joe worked for Uniroyal for over 20 years and left to enrich his career selling diamonds and precious stones for Siffari Jewellery. As such, he made friends throughout the Maritimes, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Northern Ontario and The Golden Horseshoe.

Thank you to Dr. Fornasier and Palliative care nurse Kara. Cremation has already taken place.

Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 beginning at 12 noon until the time of the Funeral Service in the chapel at 1 p.m. Reception to follow. Interment Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation Building Fund or a charity of your choice.
