PINDILLI, Helen Isabel (nee Haines) 1924-2017

Passed away at The Village of Tansley Woods, Burlington on January 12, 2017, in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late Joseph (Giuseppe) Pindilli (1996). Cherished mother to Ruth and Philip and sister to previously deceased siblings Margaret, Robert (the late Ingeborg) and Edith. Born on February 10, 1924 to George and Catherine Haines (nee Masson) in Elfros, Saskatchewan. Sister- in-law to Alfredo Pindilli (Grazia), the late Jimmy Pindilli (Angela), the late Savina Carbone (Fortunato), the late Caterina Porto (the late Rocco), the late Ermenia Panuccio and the late Lena Scullino (the late Frank). She will be missed by her nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and many friends. Helen started her teaching career in Kirkland Lake, taught for years in her home-town of Timmins before moving south where she taught in schools in Hamilton and Burlington. She gained much strength and meaning in her life through her membership at First Baptist Church in Timmins and Calvary Baptist Church in Burlington. Special thanks to all of the care givers at The Village of Tansley Woods nursing home, Shirley from Bartimaeus and Vilma. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 2458 St. Frances Drive, Burlington, on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 11:00 am. Internment at Greenwood Cemetery, Burlington. Among the causes Helen supported were missions for her church, Amnesty International, Yonge Street Mission and Mission Services. For those who wish, donations in memory of Helen may be made to a charity of your choice.
