The basketball community and the community in general will miss him a great deal! RIP Earl as you travel to the great Basketball court in the sky!!!!

Condolence: Sorry to hear of the passing of Earl Begg. He set the standard for all coaches to follow. I spent many summers with Earl at Olympia Sport Camp. He was nothing but a class individual that would talk basketball forever. His love for the game was only surpassed by his love for his players. His legacy will go on thru all the coaches that he made better. RIP my friend.

Condolence From: Laurie Cahill
Condolence: In the history of our College absolutely no one in Athletics has brought greater recognition to their sport and our female student-athletes than Earl Begg. The fact that he has been acknowledged by Mohawk College, OCAA and Basketball Ontario, for his contributions to Women’s Basketball is legendary. But his greatest legacy is his commitment, sacrifice and service to literally thousands of young women, who Earl encouraged, motivated and mentored through Basketball, to succeed on and off the court.

For over 20 years Earl repesented Mohawk College with dignity, class and a respect for everyone he met, unparalleled in Ontario.

From a generation where Men were invisible in supporting and contributing to young Women’s opportunities and development through Athletics, Earl Begg stood tall throughout, leading this initiative. He was unwavering in this commitment and dedication throughout his life.
