Condolence: I have been saddened with the news of Arthur's passing. I have known Arthur since 1991, or since I've joined Xerox Research Centre of Canada (XRCC). Arthur had an amazing work ethic and a great personality. For many years XRCC Pilot Plant (PP) was his "playground". PP work was hard, since it combined both physical endurance and mental sharpness, literally "thinking on your feet" for 7 hrs every day. Arthur brought so much enthusiasm and humor to work every day, that some of his sharp observations (and jokes) are well remembered and even retold today! Arthur, rest in piece and good buy!

Condolence: Kathy and I would like to express our heart-felt condolences to the Helbrecht family. Arthur was a valued and esteemed colleague of mine at XRCC for decades. But even more importantly, he was a Christ-Follower whose faith was evident in everything he did. His quiet example and unfailing encouragement were so important to me and he will be deeply missed.

Condolence: Arthur was very special He was working hard with a warm smile on his face;;cracking a joke when we were all tired ;teaching all of us his unique skills for reproducibility: explaining his joke when we did not get it, making important contributions to projects and sharing them willingly with colleagues. We lost a very special friend.

Condolence: Markus and I are honoured to have known Arthur since 1988 when he and his wife Lilly were part of the congregation we attended in Oakville. Arthur was the church treasurer and a member of the choir that Markus led. We still remember fondly when he was the “guest speaker” at our kids club, wearing his white lab coat and doing a bible object lesson about the science of magnets and with a chemical water experiment demonstrating how God washes our sins as white as snow. We also recall him leading a German bible study beginning with the question, “Does anyone know what the word oxymoron means?” He was a deep thinker and a person who had a deep heart for the individual. He loved talking to kids and adults alike and often begun his conversations with an attempt at humour and didn’t even mind if he was the only one laughing. It seemed important to him to show he cared by sharing time in conversing with them. Even in a heated debate with Markus about his viewpoint on what songs should be sung in church, he still listened respectfully and was open to let it be. Markus visited him several times with Angela when he was in the nursing home. He shared Scripture and hymns and Markus was always impressed with how much Arthur still knew by memory even when his health was failing. We believe strongly that his faith remained firm, even when his ability to express it ceased. We pray God will help the family and friends to treasure the special memories and recall how Arthur impacted their lives. May we learn from Arthur and do likewise. We would also like to thank the family for allowing donations to be made in honour of Arthur to our ministry, “Das Kanada Haus” in Germany. We strive to further church growth and children’s camps so that more people in this country will hear about the same strong faith that Arthur’s life was built upon. Condolence From: George and Eva Liebermann
Condolence: Eva and I are very saddened by the news of the passing of our friend Arthur whom we have known since 1978. Arthur introduced me to the working environment at Uniroyal Chemical in Elmira where we worked together for over 3 years. 25 years together at Xerox Research Centre of Canada followed, years of close friendship and a special relationship that I enjoyed very much. Arthur was a major contributor to many successful projects, new chemicals and polymers that were commercialized in Xerox copiers and printers. I got to know very well his family and heard many stories about his four children as they grew up - he loved very much. Then came the grandchildren, the arrival of each was always a celebration. Arthur lived a meaningful, full life and he will be remembered by everybody with great fondness. Goodbye Arthur, George
