Obituary for Robert John Monroe Cartwright

Robert John Monroe Cartwright
Cartwright, Robert John Monroe
Sept 5, 1929 to Dec. 29, 2018

Robert John Monroe Cartwright passed peacefully with his wife Renate at his side on December 29th, 2018. He will be greatly missed by his four children, David (Rosmarie), Linda (Jonathan), Joe (Cheryl), John (Margo) and his step-children Holly Anne (Scott) and Lucy. He leaves behind ten grandchildren, Seth, Nathan, Madison, David, Ryan, Zach, Cassidy, Tabitha Grace, Emily, Austin, and step-grandson Mason, as well as four great-grandchildren Dorothy, Alice, Mary Jane, and Isabelle, and his dear sister Doris.
He was predeceased by his father Robert, mother Edna, sister Gladys and brother Ralph. Born in Hamilton 89 years ago to parents who immigrated from the UK, Bob’s love for farm life was inherited from his father who worked on a farm after coming to Canada from England, as a twelve-year-old orphan. He also treasured his Scottish roots which he inherited from his beloved mother and took great pride in being a member of the Clan Munro.

Bob loved to travel, which he did extensively over the years, and he shared that love with his wife Renate.

The family would like to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at the Village of Tansley Woods for their excellent care, compassion and support over the past two years.

There will be a “Celebration of Life” to remember Bob on January 26th, 2019, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Millcroft Place, 1998 Ironstone Drive, Burlington, Ontario, in the main floor lounge. All are welcome.
