Louisa Olive  Newington
Passed away at Westmount Long Term Care on Tuesday, December 25, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Bruce Newington. Loving mother of the late Janet Newington (Michael Tikal) and Adam Newington (Sally). Proud grandmother of Hannah, Celeste, Graham, Benjamin and Daniel. Dear sister of the late Thomas Garness (Sylvia). Dear friend to many of the YMCA Women’s Runners club. Louisa will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. Louisa was highly devoted to her children and grandchildren. She adored mentoring and looking after them. She was a passionate animal lover and long-distance runner with her many close friends. She was a compassionate RN and midwife and always wanted to help others. Her strength and love infected everyone close to her. A special thank you to the staff at Westmount Long Term Care for their care and compassion. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street, (one block north of City Hall), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Friday, January 4, 2018 from 12:00pm until the time of Funeral Service at 1:00pm. Reception to follow. For those who wish, donations in memory of Louisa can be made to Burlington Animal Aid or a charity of choice.
