ASPINWALL, Bernard George “Barney” -

Passed away peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington on Monday, December 10, 2018 at the age of 90. Loving and devoted husband of Jeanine (nee Maggiacomo) for 68 years. Cherished father of Michael Aspinwall, Michelle Hurst, and Mark Aspinwall. Proud grandfather of Dionne Thomson (David), Ryan Aspinwall (Heather), Mitchell Aspinwall, and Matthew Aspinwall. Dear great-grandfather of Griffyn, Adeline and Lucy. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Georgina Aspinwall, and siblings Charles Aspinwall (late Isobel) and Muriel Stone (late Alfred). Special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of Joseph Brant Hospital for the excellent care provided. As per Barney’s wishes, private cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON, 905-632-3333, on Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 12 noon until the Service of Remembrance which begins at 1:00pm. Reception to immediately follow at the funeral home. As an expression of sympathy, donations in memory of Barney to SickKids Foundation would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
