Obituary for Pauline Ann McDonnell (Manly)

Pauline Ann McDonnell (Manly)
Peacefully with family on November 24th, in her 88th year. Dearly missed by beloved husband of 59 years, Jim. Pauline was Jim’s best friend, first Mate for 68 years. Emigrated to Canada from Dublin in 1958 to join Jim. Loving mother of Sarah (Ashley) and Una, cherished sister-in-law of Christine and Aunt to Pauline (Pat), proud grandmother to Sean and Colin. Pre-deceased by siblings Maureen, Father Greg, Una (Michael), and Monsignor Alex. Pauline worked at Sisters of St. Joseph Mother House and was a member of the Auxiliary at JBH. Jim and Pauline enjoyed over 40 years as members of BS&BC, cruising Lake Ontario. They enjoyed many adventurous trips around the world, but also loved being at the cottage with her grandsons. She will be remembered for her strength and grace. Special thank you to the caring and compassionate staff at JBH.
Heartfelt thank you to her caregiver, Jennifer, who comforted Pauline through her last years. Visitation at Smith’s Funeral Home, Guelph Line, Sunday, December 2nd, 3 to 6 pm. Funeral Mass held at St. Paul the Apostle, Headon Rd on Monday, December 3rd at 10:30 am. Interment at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery. Reception, Burlington Golf and Country Club, noon. Memorial Donations to The Alzheimer Society of Hamilton Halton.

“And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.”
