Obituary for James Chalmers Watson

James Chalmers Watson
Watson, James Chalmers

Our family sadly announces the peaceful passing of our dear father at Carpenter Hospice on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018, having recently celebrated his 95th birthday. He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Audrey, deceased 2004, and his three brothers and their spouses.
He leaves behind his children Sue (Jim) Noble, Dale (Bill) Cowan, and Paul (Linda) Watson. Dearest Papa of Michael (Laura) Noble, Andrew (Katherine) Noble, Steven (Laura) Noble, Lindsay (Paul) Keyes, Scott (Delrae) Cowan, Michelle (Josh) Stevenson and Tracy Watson.
He was blessed with 11 great-grandchildren, Kyle, Bradley, Evelyn, Audrey, Matthew and Carly Noble, Grayson and Hunter Keyes, Theo and Thatcher Cowan and Jaydon Stevenson.
Our Dad was a dedicated employee, 43 years, of Stelco, retiring as Plant Accounting Manager of Hilton Works. He was a commissioned officer in the Canadian Air Force, instructing new pilots at the RCAF Station Flin Flon, Manitoba during WWII.
He was proud to be a member of the Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite in Hamilton but his greatest love was his family cottage on Skeleton Lake, Muskoka and golfing with his wife and children at their club, Diamond in the Ruff. Mom and Dad also spent many warm winters in Panama City Beach, Florida and enjoyed golfing in Myrtle Beach, S.C. A longtime resident of Ancaster, Dad was happy to have spent his last 4 years at the Village of Tansley Woods retirement home in Burlington. We wish to thank the Carpenter Hospice staff and Dr. Durcan for their excellent care and compassion.
Visitation at Smith’s Funeral Home, Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), Burlington (905-632-3333), on Thursday, Nov. 15th from 3 - 5 and 7 - 9 pm. The service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, Nov. 16th at 10:30 am.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to Carpenter Hospice, the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice would be much appreciated by our family. Always remembered, forever loved. Rest In Peace, Dad.
