Obituary for Antony (Tony) Dennis Ogborn

Antony (Tony) Dennis  Ogborn
Antony Dennis (Tony) Ogborn died at Joseph Brant Hospital, October 21st, 2018 after a 20 plus year heroic battle with Spastic Paraplegia (HSP).


Tony attended the University of Wales, Swansea, Engineering Program. He emigrated from Britain to Canada in 1977 and worked for Canadian Standards Association for twenty plus years as a Professional Engineer.


Throughout his life, Tony enjoyed music, cars, camping, fishing, DIY and exploring the latest in technology. He greatly enjoyed visiting his family in Wales and travelling.


Tony is survived by his former wife and good friend, Pat Ogborn (nee Kiley) and his two much loved children, Kirsty and her husband Mick Coles and Peter and his wife Sarah Ogborn. Beloved Grandad to Lyndsay, Kylie, Hunter, Evan & Dylan.


In Wales, Tony leaves behind his brother John (Julie) Ogborn, his sister-in-law Gilda (Garry) Jones and his brothers-in-law John (Julie) Kiley & Chris (Koby) Kiley and lots of nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his sister Wendy (Keith) Griffiths.


The family would like to thank Mary and the PSWs at Capability Support Services at Aldershot Village Residences for all of their care and attention. We will be forever grateful.



As an expression of condolences, memorial donations to McMaster University Medical Centre - Neuromuscular Disease Research - Dr. Tarnopolsky Laboratory would be greatly appreciated.



Visitation will be held Thursday, October 25th 7-9 pm and Funeral Service Friday, October 26th at 1 pm with reception afterward, all at Smith’s Funeral Home, 1167 Guelph Line, in Burlington (905-632-3333).
