Prof. Lavelle was more than an educator -- he was a man able to share, examine and explore the human condition with everyone who crossed his path. The literature that he shared with me changed my life, while his friendship changed my heart. Mike, you are loved and will be missed.

I was a child when Mike came to my house. My brother and I would sit at the top of the stairs when our parents had parties...we couldnt sleep because of that laugh. It was so loud, so boisterous and I can still hear it now at age 40.

Mike was a friend and trusted business colleague since his days as Director at UTM Mississauga. He brought passion and compassion to companies and individuals with whom he worked.A good man, Mike made a difference and impacted the lives of hundreds of people he mentored over the years in good spirit.Mike will be missed by many.I miss him already but his spirit will live on moving forward.A very sad day for many but Mike gave life his all and "took it to the limit".
