Constance "Connie"Gaskin (nee Lichon) of Stoney Creek

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt at the age of 85 on September 27, 2018.

She is survived by her husband and soul mate Bob for over 45 years, daughter Marlene Vooys (Frank), and son Don Green (Nancy), step-sons Mark Gaskin (Kathy), Howard Gaskin (Cheryl), Patrick Gaskin (Fiona), sister Jania Lichon-Saunders (Michael), 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by parents Adam and Annie Lichon, son Robert Green and sisters Mary Ward and Christina Karas.

Connie had an infectious smile, a sense of humour, valued hard work and was a great cook. She was well-known throughout the purebred dog hobby (owner/breeder of Samoyeds for over 50 years) in Canada, United States and Europe. A life member of the Canadian Kennel Club, Samoyed Association of Canada, Samoyed Club of America and Swansea Dog Obedience Club.

We would like to thank the doctors and staff at Juravinski Cancer Centre and Dr. Elia for the vital part they played in her health care. Also a special thanks to all the staff at Seasons Retirement Communities - Stoney Creek for making her and her husband really feel "at home" since moving in over one year a ago.


Cremation has taken place. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 6-9 p.m. A Service of Remembrance will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 1 p.m. Private family interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery at a later date. If desired, memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
