Obituary for Allan Franklin Stansbury

Allan Franklin  Stansbury
Passed away peacefully with his family by his side in Barrie on Friday, September 21, 2018 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of the late Dawn. Loving father of Todd (Karen), Jay (Judy), Dale (Lisa), Susan (Emiel) DeVries and David. Doting grandfather of Joshua, Jordan, Jacob, Jacie, Julia, Chloe, Grace and Tess. Brother of Kenneth and Paul. Allan was a long-time resident of Oakville and Burlington.

In his youth he helped run his family farm and discovered a love for long distance truck driving. He joined the Oakville Police Department in 1950 as a Cadet and completed his career as an Inspector for Halton Regional 36 years later. Upon his retirement Allan returned to the open road driving luxurious coach buses covering most of North America.

Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Saturday, September 29 from 12 p.m. where a Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at 1 p.m. Reception to follow. Interment St. Jude’s Cemetery. For those who wish, donations in memory of Allan to The Carpenter Hospice would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
