Obituary for John "Jack" Bailey

John "Jack" Bailey
January 2, 1925 – September 17, 2018

Dad’s work here is done. On Monday, September 17, 2018 he received an invitation he could not refuse…an opportunity to be reunited with his beloved wife Margaret and other family and friends that he has not seen in a very long time. He leaves behind his loving daughters and sons-in-law, Susan French (Stewart), Shirley Bailey and Allyson Marton (Joe). His beloved grandchildren and their wives who meant the world to him Ryan (Amy), Kevin (Victoria), Kyle (Jenny) and Jake. His beautiful great-grandchildren who brought him so much joy; Iyla, Mason, Dylan, Parker, Hunter and Easton.

There are so many people to thank for being such a great support to us during Dad’s illness…Heidi, you are an angel. Dad always looked forward to seeing you. Bill, thank you, you were a great friend to Dad. Dr. Graham, you went above and beyond providing care and support. Dad thought the world of you and Karen. Acclaim Health, your in-home palliative care team provided us with everything we needed to look after Dad. Your staff are to be commended for their fantastic work.

At Dad’s request, a family graveside service has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place at Burlington Seniors' Centre, 2285 New St, BURLINGTON on Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 1 p.m.- 4 p.m.

For those who wish to make a donation in memory of our father, please visit www.cancerassist.ca They are a phenomenal community support for families dealing with cancer, providing things such as wheel chairs at no cost to the family for as long as needed. They receive no money from any level of government and rely completely on corporate and public donations. No gift is too small.

Dad, you gave us beautiful memories, funny stories and words of wisdom to last a lifetime. You will live forever in our hearts…till we meet again.

Arrangements entrusted to SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, Burlington (905-632-3333).
