Obituary for Richard "Rick" William Carpenter
Peacefully on Wednesday September 5, 2018 at The Carpenter Hospice, Burlington at the age of 74. Beloved husband of the late Arlene Carpenter (May 25, 2007). Loving father of Kathryn, Christopher (Alisha) and the late Scott Carpenter, step father of Mike and Steve Bonnay. Predeceased by Sherryl Anne Carpenter, mother of Kathryn and Chris. Cherished grandfather of Eric Carpenter. Survived by his brothers Jerry Carpenter (Mary Ann) and Keith Carpenter (Beverley). Predeceased by brother Glenn Carpenter (Peggy). He will be fondly remembered by his brother in laws, nieces and nephews. Rick will be dearly missed by the Friday breakfast guys and his many friends.
As per his wishes, visitation will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Friday, September 7 from 3-5 and 7-9p.m. Funeral Service at St. George’s Anglican Church, 4691 Palladium Way on Saturday, September 8 at 11a.m. Reception to follow. Interment at St. George’s Anglican Churchyard, Lowville on Monday, September 10 at 10:30 a.m. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Rick are asked to please consider the Elizabeth Fry Society in support of Eric Carpenter providing Christmas turkey dinners for single moms. Special thanks to the staff and doctors at Carpenter Hospice.
