Obituary for Dr. Stanley Andrew Dziurdzy

Dr. Stanley Andrew Dziurdzy
Dziurdzy, Dr. Stanley Andrew

Passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018 in his 81st year. Loving husband of the late Lauretta. Cherished father of Lara Dziurdzy (Christopher Blanar) and the late Jena Dziurdzy. Predeceased by his brother Victor Dziurdzy. The family wish to thank Lauretta's family for their continued care and love of Stan.

Dr. Dziurdzy practiced Psychiatry in the Burlington and Hamilton area for over 50 years, having graduated from the University of Toronto. To his mother’s extreme pride, he was awarded the Gold medal for Psychiatry, an award that was only given for exceptional individuals in their field of study. His desire to help and improve the lives of his patients was paramount. And a common goal that both he and his wife Lauretta, shared and worked towards in his practice.

One of his passions that he was widely known for were model airplanes and everything associated with them, from WWI and WWII. The Japanese Zero fighter plane, was the first in a collection that would grow for the next 75 years. And of course, there were the cars, one faster and sleeker than the next, another one of his passions.

He loved nature, puttering in his garden, fussing over the grass and was often mistaken for the gardener. His love of animals and his kind hand stroked and cared for many creatures, big and small, over the years. He will be sorely missed by his fur kids, Jake and Kiki.

Private family services have taken place.

Arrangements entrusted to SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, BURLINGTON (905-632-3333). For those who wish, donations to the Burlington Humane Society or to the Dean’s Excellence Fund, at the University of Toronto, would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
