Obituary for Gordon Stone

Gordon  Stone
Born in Livelong, Saskatchewan on February 24, 1935, Gordon Stone passed away peacefully with family by his side in Burlington, Ontario on August 15, 2018 at the age of 83. Beloved husband of 59 years of Janine Stone (nee Foster). Loving father of Gordon, Gregory and Amanda. Cherished grandfather of Bailey. Dear brother of Leona Throssell and Tracey Klassen of British Columbia. He will be missed by many cousins, nieces and nephews throughout Western Canada. Gordon served in the R.C.A.F from 1952- 1957. He retired with over 41 years of employment as an account manager with Canadian Industries Limited (C.I.L) Plastics Division at Plastics Inc. Brampton. He was a member of the Packaging Association of Canada (PAC), The Fertilizer Institute of Ontario (TFIO) and recipient of their award of merit on retirement for his significant contribution to the TFIO and to the fertilizer industry. He was also a member of the Burlington Curling Club and Skyway Seniors Recreation Club. As per Gordon’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering celebrating his life will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Sunday, August 19, 2018 from 3:30-6p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the Salvation Army would be greatly appreciated.
