Passed away peacefully at Alexander Place, Waterdown on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the age of 93. Beloved husband of the late Hazel Ruth Griffiths (nee King). Loving father of the late Kathryn Dean (2011), and Jim Griffiths and his wife Colleen. Cherished grandpa of Lindsay (Shay Burrows), Megan and Vanessa. Art was a veteran of WWII where he served as a pilot in both the RCAF and the Royal Naval Fleet Air Arm. While rowing for the Leander Boat Club in Hamilton he was proud to have rowed for Canada at the 1948 Olympic Games in London, England and the 1952 Olympic Games in Helsinki, Finland. Member of the Westdale Secondary School Hall of Fame, the Central Public School Old Boys Association and enjoyed playing golf with his fellow seniors at the Millcroft Golf Club. Private cremation has taken place. If desired, donations to the War Plane Heritage Museum would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
