Obituary for Julianna Ludwina Miekusz
With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Julianna Miekusz, 73, on Monday, June 25, 2018, as a result of failing health. She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Anna (nee Galay) and Paul. She will be sadly missed by her Aunt Mary, her cousins and their children and her many friends and neighbours. She was very active in St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Parish in Grimsby where she grew up. She was proud of her Ukrainian heritage, enjoying concerts and family traditions. She was a wonderful cook known for her Paskas, grape pies and cheesecakes. As a court interpreter she created strong bonds with her clients. Visitation at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, GRIMSBY (905-945-2755) on Sunday, July 8, 2018 from 6-9 p.m. Panachyda at 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Resurrection, 821 Upper Wentworth Street, Hamilton on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 10 a.m. Interment at Queen's Lawn Cemetery, Grimsby. If wished, donations to Ukrainian Canadian Social Services of Hamilton would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
