Obituary for Henry William Strejch

Strejch, Henry William
May 29, 1942 - June 6, 2018

Peacefully surrounded by family. Predeceased by his wife Cheryl and Son Mark, his parents Anna and Jan Strejch, his brothers John and Tony as well as his sister Susie Slizowski. Survived by his sisters Mary Park and Halina Sinkins. Lovingly remembered by his daughters, Jennifer(Greg), Beverly (Frank) and Cindi(Ron). Will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, all of whom he was extremely proud; Nic, Stephanie, Crysta, Kyle, Brandon, Amber, Bryanna and Klayton; as well as his adorable Great-grandchildren who gave him endless joy, Weston, Bryce, Kassidy and Brody. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Henry will be dearly missed by his best friend and partner, Holly Spallino.
Henry will be remembered for many things: His love of sports, in particular the Blue Jays. Henry spent many summers in the bleachers watching his grandchildren play sports. The freedom he found in cycling, as he would be seen on the many streets and pathways in and around Burlington. His passion for travel, took him around the globe with his travel companion, Holly by his side. The places they had seen together and the memories they shared will last forever. Of all things, Henry’s greatest passion was his love for his family. There was nothing more important or precious in his life.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff in the emergency department and 6th floor at Joseph Brant Hospital. In particular Nurse Martha for the great compassion she gave our father during his stay. The nurses and staff at Carpenter Hospice, Nurse Heather who made his final hours feel like being home, and the empathy that she showed the family. At Henry’s request, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Henry will be interred at Greenwood Cemetery and a Celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations to Henry’s charities of choice are Joseph Brant Hospital and Carpenter Hospice, in his memory would be appreciated.
