Obituary for Glen Alan Sawchuk

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Glen on Friday, June 1, 2018 at the age of 69. Beloved husband of 46 years to his high school sweetheart Jennifer. Proud and loving father to Daryl (Lesia) and Cara (Chris). Cherished Grandpa to Taylor, Zakkari, Andrew, Jackson and Jane. Predeceased by his parents Steven and Olga Sawchuk and his in-laws Kenneth and Zena Watson. Loving older brother to Gary (Susie), the late Don (Vicky), Janet, Phil (Joann), Pat (Debbie), Karen, Denis, Tim (Shannon), brother-in-law to Suzie (Paul), Andrea (Mick) and the late Peter. Deeply missed by close friends Eugene (Butch) and Monica Repa and cousin Geraldine Waud. Also left to grieve by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Glen's grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life. The legacy of his spirit and zest for life will live on through them. Glen will be remembered as a proud family man, brave protector and valiant fighter who will be missed dearly by everyone who knew him. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of St. Joseph's Hospital ICU for their care and compassion. Visitation at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, GRIMSBY (905-945-2755) on Thursday, June 7, 2017 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. With Funeral Service at the Funeral Home on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. If desired, memorial contributions to the Kidney Foundation would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
