Obituary for John Duncan Thomson

John Duncan Thomson
With heavy hearts, the family announces the sudden passing of John "Silver Fox" on Saturday May, 26 2018 at the age of 84. Survived by his beloved bride of 60 years, Olga (nee Delay). Also survived by brother Bruce (Joan). Loving father of Lynn Feaver (Glenn), Dean (Nella) and Phillip (Kelly). Cherished Gigi of Sarah, Cole, Natalie and Sophia. Predeceased by his identical twin brother Jim (Ellen), parents Thomas and Lorene Thomson and cherished nephew Mark Wisnoski. Missed also by his extended family and countless friends. John loved to socialize, and enjoyed his nearly daily coffee get together's with friends both at home in Grimsby and, during winters in Florida, where he loved to travel each year with his bride. He will be fondly remembered for his passion for life and love for his family. Family occasions were often celebrated with a speech delivered by John. He had a special gift for delivering a message that would bring smiles and sometimes tears to his audience. His classic closing line will forever remain in our hearts. "May your happiness be as deep as the ocean, and your cares as fine as its' spray." Special thanks to Dr. Malcolm, Dr. Graham, GFD, NRP, EMS, West Lincoln Memorial Emergency Dept. and the staff of the St. Catharines Hospital ICU for their sincere care and compassion. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, GRIMSBY (905-945-2755) on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. with Tributes at 8:00 p.m. for those wishing to share a few words. Interment at a later date at Queen's Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or West Lincoln Memorial Auxiliary would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
