Obituary for Frank van Buuren

Frank van Buuren passed away suddenly at his home in Grimsby, on Tuesday, May 22, 2018. Cherished son of Apolonia and the late Christinus van Buuren of Grimsby. He is survived by his sons, siblings and their families: Christinus van Buuren, Daniel van Buuren, Bettina Beiser van Buuren-Roxburgh, Johanna Schalkoort, Jack van Buuren, Toni Sinclair, Margaret Peart, Rosalie Rogers and Christopher van Buuren. Frank was a longtime member of the Grimsby community, attending primary and secondary school and made his home here. He worked at Reyco Canada Inc. Frank was an amazing father and loving husband. He raised Christinus and Daniel van Buuren to be outstanding men, and they were his pride and joy. He treasured his sons and they held him in the highest esteem. Frank was an avid angler who loved fishing on the Kawartha Lakes with his two sons, his brother Jack, his dad and all his family. He loved to go for long walks and hikes in the surrounding area and had a love for the Bruce Trail. He loved history and was a well read person. Frank had the ability to warm the environment around him with his big smile, playful disposition, and loving nature. His enthusiastic greeting was enough to put a smile on anyone's face and inject them with a genuine feeling of happiness - this was something he was able to invoke within everyone in his circle. He was a truly kind and generous person, always looking for ways to help and care for others. Frank was a prominent male figure in many individuals lives, impacting who they are today. Those who knew Frank are very grateful for all the time they got to spend with him and the opportunity to truly know him. Frank will always be remembered as the kind, funny, and sincerely warm man he was. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 59 Robinson Street South in Grimsby from 1 PM to 4 PM. Light refreshments will be served. Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Frank van Buuren to the Bruce Trail Conservancy or Grimsby Benevolent Fund.
