Obituary for Joseph Bonitatibus

Bonitatibus, Joseph

Peacefully in his home on Wednesday, May 23. Devoted husband of Marie, cherished father of Silvio (Connie), Ann-Marie (Steve) Schneider, Antonette (Brent) Condari and the late Steven. Adoring Nonno of Joseph, Felicia, Olivia, Sarah, Isabella, Nicholas, Sophia, Michaela and Marisa. Dear brother of Angelo (Lillian), Rosanne (Barry) Kent and brother-in-law of Angela Schelter, Josie (Livio) DiNello, Ann (Harry) Mulvale and Domenic (Florence) Mungo. Predeceased by his parents Silvio and Anna and his in-laws Rocco and Antonia Mungo. Joseph also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews and friends. He was born July 10th, 1938 in Pettorano Sul Gizio, Italy. Often said, “Italian by birth, Canadian by choice!” Proud of his 35 years as an electrician on the E-line at Dofasco. He left a legacy for all of his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews which will always be treasured. His passions included gardening, cards, hockey, volleyball, fishing, cottage life, cruising and most of all, education. His happiest moments were spending time with his family and friends, sharing the bounty from his garden and challenging anyone that would be a “worthy opponent”. Many thanks to the kindness given by his doctors, nurses at Juravinski Hospital and the VON. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Sunday, May 27, 2018 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Prayer Vigil at 7 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, 934 Highway #8, Winona on Monday, May 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery . Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Cancer Assistance Program.
