Condolence From: John K Leslie
Condolence: Matt was one of the finest men I have known, a real “Caper” deeply rooted in his beloved Cape Breton. His strong character was set during the Depression and later polished by his wonderful wife, “Lolly”. Matt was generous to a fault, eager to help anyone with or without need. He was a man’s man whose personality attracted people. And he had a knack for opening those who needed an ear. His somewhat detailed stories were often based on his interest in the life and times of others, usually ending with a twist of humour. He will be remembered fondly for so many reasons, including the image of a big man who was hauled around Central Park by a tiny, bossy dog named “ Maggie”. Condolence to family and friends.
