Obituary for Paul Bryant Chapman

Paul Bryant Chapman

Chapman, Staff Sergeant Paul Bryant (1945-2018)

On May 6, 2018, at Willowgrove Long Term Care in Ancaster, ON, the family of Paul "Chappy" Chapman, with broken hearts and many cherished memories, had to say their goodbyes to Paul a week before his 73rd birthday after a long and difficult struggle with Alzheimer's. Left to mourn his loss is Paul's best friend and "love of his life" and wife of 51 years, Christine. Also left to mourn are his loving children, Scott (Helen) of Stratford, PEI; and Tracy McCarthy (Bryan Tippin) of Hamilton, ON. Loving Bubba to his treasured grandchildren Jill and Steve Chapman, and Caitlin and Maeve McCarthy. Dear brother to Jim (Kathie) and also brother-in-law to Marian Gould-Chapman, Pat Fraser, Janet (Jim Scott). Pre-deceased by his brothers Joe and Gary, and brother-in-law John Fraser.
Paul was most proud of his family, but also of his 30 year service with the Halton Regional Police Department, where he was best known for his concern and compassion for his fellow officers and using his incredible sense of humour to help during the stressful days. Paul was also an Ontario Amateur Football Official and had the honour of being the head referee for the Vanier Cup.
Visitation at Smith's Funeral Home, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), Burlington (905-632-3333) on Tuesday, May 8th from 3pm-5pmand 7pm-9pm, from where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 9th at 1pm. Interment at Burlington Memorial Gardens, Tranquility Garden.
For those who wish, donations can be made in Paul's memory to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada.
Rest in Peace, forever my love. Christine
