Obituary for Veronica Claire Edwards (Hurst)

Veronica Claire  Edwards (Hurst)
Veronica was born October 7 1921 in Stalybridge, England, the middle child and daughter of George and Ada Hurst. Her six siblings were Sara, Betty, George, Elsie, Norah, and Tom. Veronica was married to James Joseph Edwards for over fifty years until his passing in 1993. Loved and respected Mother of Maurice, Jamie, Mark, and Tony. Loving Grandmother of Sean, Shannon, Rebecca, Rochelle, Tiffany, Tara, Michael, Rory and dear Great grandmother of Abby, Allie, Calvin, Peyton, Samuel, Grayson, Havyn, and Gavyn. Our mother was an inspiration and the glue that held us together. A war bride she met her future husband who came home with her older brother George after they both survived Dunkirk. After Jim was wounded at El al Amin they left war torn England in 1944. Living in Kingston, Grimsby, Cornwall, Smithville and Burlington. Visitation at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, GRIMSBY (905-945-2755) on Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Prayer Vigil at 3:15p.m. at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Martin of Tours Roman Catholic Church, 166 West St, Smithville on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 1:00pm. Interment St. Martin's Churchyard Cemetery. Reception to follow.
