Obituary for Michael Simmo Piil

Michael Simmo Piil
It is with broken hearts that the family announce the passing of Michael in his 50th year at home in Burlington on Tuesday, April 10, 2018. Beloved husband of Tara (nee Mizibrocky), loving father of Ava, Marcus, Bria and Charlotte, dear son of Anneliese “Lisa” and the late Simmo Piil, dear brother of Trish Hammond (nee Piil) and brother-in-law to Randy Hammond and dear brother-in-law to Carrie Clark (nee Mizibrocky) and Jason Clark, Krista Court (nee Mizibrocky) and Steve Court and Mandy Mizibrocky and Richard Cox, dear son-in-law of Norman and Francine Mizibrocky. He will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends.

Mike was a dedicated employee of the Toronto Transit Commission. Having served over 25 years; he began as a help desk employee and worked his way up to a director position.

He spent much of his childhood on the football field. As he grew older his interests expended into the realm of technology. He even spent many hours mining crypto currency in his dining room!

He was always the life of the party! One of the best bartenders and everyone was always welcome at his bar; he never discriminated against his guests of their choice of drink.

Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905) 632-3333, on Sunday, April 15 from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., where a celebration of Michael’s life will be held in the Chapel on Monday, April 16 at 1 p.m. Reception to follow.

As Michael’s life was centered around his family and education; donations in his memory to his children’s education fund would be sincerely appreciated. Electronic transfers can be sent to 4piilkids@gmail.com
