Condolence: As odd as it may seems I knew a about Eric Bullock before I joined Burlington Police in 1970. He was an O.P.P. officer in the detachment that I started at in 1965. All the officers in the Vandorf / Bond Lake detachments expressed deep respect and fondness for Eric. He had a caring and a professional police office.
He introduced many Halton officers to the world of competitive shooting in police competitions around the province. He mentored and coached all officers of the day on the gun range, taught the Special Weapons and TRU teams the real meaning of professionalism and how to stay alive. When he spoke you listened because you knew he was right and that you needed to get it right.
He challenged you by giving you a chance to prove yourself. It was like he knew or saw your potential and was willing to give you the opportunity to make yourself better.
He was a great Association supporter. In the turmoil of Regionalization Eric's point of view was heard as the voice of reason and the "right thing to do."
Eric was a cop's cop. He was missed after he retired and he will be missed by those who knew him well as Staff Bullock.

Condolence: Eric was my first ever staff sergeant when I joined halton police in February 1981 and remained so until his retirement. Eric was great to work for and I loved helping out on the tactical training days by either being a hostage
Or delivering their pay Cheques while they were on training days.
Once Eric retired I used to pop to their house on mayzell and have coffee with him and Barb. Once I retired I used to meet him at Burlington mall with the retirees for coffee morning. Unfortunately I am unable to attend service as I am out of country on vacation and don’t return till beginning of May.
My heartfelt sympathy to the family.

Condolence: I came to know Staff Sergeant Eric Bullock briefly when I joined the Halton Regional Police Service in 1986 from another police service. I followed in his footsteps in both Firearms Training and the Tactical Rescue Unit (T.R.U.) I didn’t realize at that time what a true pioneer the “Staff” was in both of these areas, where he displayed strong leadership, passion, energy, and enthusiasm. You would have never guessed that he was in the “twilight years” of his career and about to retire soon thereafter. The ”Staff” served law enforcement with honour and dignity and he has left a lasting legacy both within the H.R.P.S. and beyond. My sincere condolences go out to his family and other close friends who will miss him dearly. May God bless you all during this time of grieving and remembrance.
