Obituary for Kay Simpson

Kay Simpson
Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health in Oshawa, Ontario on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the age of 93 with her family close by. Predeceased by her devoted husband of almost 70 years, William Robert Simpson “Bill” (2016), her parents Walter and Violet Carey and five brothers Harold, Kenny, Roy, George and Ivor Carey. Devoted mother to Keith Simpson (Teana). Proud grandma to her “sweeties” - Amy Sherk (Adam) and Laurie Simpson and cherished great grandma to Andrew, Aaron, Dustin, Owen, Emersyn and Tyler. A loving grandmother to Dawn, Brock and Clayton Tait. Kay will be dearly missed by her sister in law, Dorothy Simpson. Kay and Bill spent their married life in Burlington, Ontario surrounded by family and friends, including many devoted nieces and nephews, who will always remember Friday night dinners and the many good times.
Kay’s family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff and nurses at The Colonial Retirement Residence in Whitby, Ontario for their kindness and support over the past year.
As per Kay’s wishes, private cremation will take place before the service. A Service of Remembrance to honour her life will be held at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Saturday, April 7, 2018, visitation at 12pm, with service and reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choosing.
