Obituary for Joseph Fleischmann

Joseph Fleischmann
FLEISCHMANN, Joseph Bernard

Passed away at Clarion Nursing Home, Stoney Creek, ON., March 21, 2018, in his 91st year. Beloved husband of the late Mary (nee Mattioli). Survived by his children: Patti Fleischmann (Rick Weatherill) of Port Dover, Cathy Fleischmann (Ian Sudlow) of Burlington, Marnie Palango (Steve) of Port Dover and Gerri Colic (Alex) of Stoney Creek. Grandfather to Laine, Wade, Brent, Eva, Amelia and Jared. Great grandfather to Elsie. Sadly, missed by his first wife Mary Fleischmann (nee Dome) and dear friend, Audrey Perkins. Brother of the late Charles Fleischmann of Hamilton.
Joe retired as a 35-year member of the Hamilton Police Service. He was a former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1142, Royal Hamilton Light Infantry and the Hamilton Police Retirees Euchre Club.
Joe was an avid golfer, euchre player and immensely enjoyed his snowbird days in Florida. Ever the practical joker, Joe could be counted on to impart some wry humour in any situation, with his rye and ginger and favourite pipe in hand.
Special thanks go to the wonderful, caring staff at Clarion Nursing Home.
Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road), STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 12 – 1pm, where a Service of Remembrance will take place in the chapel at 1pm. A private interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Joe's memory to Osteoporosis Canada https://osteoporosis.ca/ would be sincerely appreciated
