HALSEY, A. John - passed away peacefully after a brief illness at Joseph Brant Hospital, Burlington on Monday March 19, 2018 at the age of 80. Loving and dedicated husband of Barbara (nee Harris) for the past 53 years. Knight in Shining Armour and devoted Dad to daughter Karen Elizabeth. Loving and proud Grandad to Thomas, James and Evan. Predeceased by his parents William and Ada and siblings, Violet, Albert, Sidney, Joyce and Joan, brother-in-law James and sister-in-law Marlene. Lovingly remembered by his sister Anne and her husband Rainer in Germany and his sisters-in-law Linda and Kay and her husband Steve, and brother-in-law James in England. Cherished Uncle to many nieces and nephews and all their families in England, Germany and Canada. He will be sorely missed by his best childhood friend Willie and wife Dee in England.

John was a dedicated and successful sales executive during his career with Tremco Canada. He met some tremendous colleagues during his career who became cherished friends. He was a devoted Manchester United football fan from a very young age and took up the passion of English football as well, playing up until just recently. He will be fondly remembered by his many soccer friends who he has met over the years.

A huge thank you to all the doctors and kind nursing staff at Joseph Brant Hospital. An extra special thank you to Dr. Mills for his caring bedside manor that helped John to relax during his last week. Thank you also to nursing staff Odjie for his special gift that John truly appreciated, Diana for her gentleness and Danielle for her kind heart. Also a thank you to nurses Lisa and Jennifer for coming along for the rides to and from Juravinski Hospital. Last but definitely not least thank you to Amanda for her compassion and caring during a very difficult time.

Cremation will take place prior to the service. Funeral Service on Saturday March 24th at Smith's Funeral Home, 1167 Guelph Line, Burlington. Visitation 12-1pm followed by a service and reception afterwards.

In lieu of flowers a donation to a charity of your choice would be very much appreciated.
Forever in our hearts... his remains lie here, but his heart is forever England's.
