Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at the age of 63. Devoted and loving husband of 31 years to Dianne (nee Aplin). Proud father of Kailey and Tyler. Cherished son of Mary and the late Robert Kirkpatrick and son-in-law of Vera and the late Roy Aplin. Dear brother of Nancy, Jane (Luke), David (Cheryl) and brother-in-law Glenn. Rob will also be dearly missed by his nieces and nephews, Katherine, Michael, Sarah, Ryan, Rebecca and sister-in-law Lynn. Rob graduated from McMaster University and was a lifelong fan of the Marauder football team. Rob was a Professional Engineer, working over 29 years for Elliott Turbomachinery Canada. As per Rob’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON, 905-632-3333, on Monday, March 26, 2018 from 5-8pm. A Memorial Service in Rob’s honour will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 1:00pm with a reception to follow. If desired, donations in his memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
