Condolences

Condolence From: Nancy Andersen
Condolence: Mrs. Hudson was always Mrs. Hudson - never Jo to me!
Happy memories are wonderful and here are three of mine!

The Hudson's were the first family in Welland to own a television. Before we had one Suzie, Peter and Tim Bedard and I would traipse over to Hudson's, sit on the floor with Clark and watch the Howdy Doody show. Mrs. Hudson never seemed to mind our raucous laughter as we were fascinated with Howdy, Clarabelle and Buffalo Bob!!

I remember every afternoon at 4 o'clock Mrs. Bedard and my mother would go to Hudson's for a cup of tea and obviously a lot of chit chat! I think whatever was said in that living room stayed in that living room! Anyway, the Bedard kids and I always knew where we'd find our mothers after school!

Finally, Mrs. Hudson, Mrs. Bedard and my Mum always exchanged hilarious birthday cards! But, not like today their age was never discussed! Then years later Clark let it slip that his mother was 80! Oops! Then suddenly she was 100 and Julie, Scott and Karen hosted an afternoon get together for her at Creekway Village. It was so nice to say Happy Birthday, Mrs. Hudson .....

She'll always be remembered!

Condolence: Thank-you Mrs Hudson for always welcoming my sister and I into your house so we could "bang" on your piano. One of the highlights of our Sunday visits to our Grandparents house on Church Street in Welland. Sorry for your loss

Condolence: Julie.... What an amazing life JoAnne had. I remember in the early sixties walking by her house on Edgar Street in Welland and talking to her about the little three-wheeled car she and Laroche brought back from Europe. She and my mother ran the Girl's Auxiliary at St. David's for many years. And, of course, I stayed with her for a couple of summers in the late 1960's and early 1970's while I worked at summer jobs after my parents moved to the U.S. It's hard to imagine that she was born the same year the Titanic sank. The history she saw over her 106 years is mind-blogging. At 70, I am now firmly retired and living in Kingston. I will remember your mother-in-law with fondness in the years ahead and wish you well also.
