Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, Mary Sullivan of Burlington, in her 85th year. Dearly beloved wife of the late Ramsay Sullivan. Loving mother of Richard and his wife Anne of Pender Island, British Columbia, Fiona Aris and her husband Shawn of Kingston, and Jennifer Turney and her husband Greg of Burlington. Devoted and proud grandmother of Andrew, Christopher, Hugh, Laura, Dylan, Daniel, Keefer, Claire and Elyse. Dear sister of David Thorpe (Elizabeth) and Michael Thorpe (Sylvia). Predeceased by her second husband Ron Voss. Mary was born in Derbyshire, England in 1933 to Henry and Eleanor Thorpe. She was educated at Ilkeston Grammar School and Leicester University, England where she received her Degree in Domestic Science. After an early career as a Home Economics teacher and dietitian, Mary went on to hold executive healthcare positions with St. Joseph’s Villa, St. Peter’s Centre and Versa Foods. Mary lived life to its fullest, as an avid sportswoman, gourmet cook, award-winning gardener, and supreme hostess. Her greatest joy however, was found in nurturing and spending time with her family who loved and adored her in return. A Service of Remembrance will be held at St. Christopher's Anglican Church, 662 Guelph Line, Burlington, on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at 2:30 pm. Reception to follow.
