Obituary for Evangelos "Angelo" Tsafkopoulos

Evangelos "Angelo" Tsafkopoulos
It is with the deepest of sadness that we share the unexpected passing of Evangelos Tsafkopoulos on February 18, 2018 in the 73rd year of his life. Born in Aetos, Florina, Greece, Angelo came to Canada over 45 years ago. Angelo was the beloved husband to his wife Anastasia for over forty-three years. Loving and wonderful father to his three children, Steve (Chrysta), Louie (Randi) and Nikki (Kelsey) and extremely proud Pappou to his four grandchildren, Olivia, Charlotte, Isabella and Evan whom Angelo loved dearly, spoiled excessively and stuffed them full of candy and treats any chance he got. Angelo is predeceased by his parents Stavros and Androniki and his brother, Triffon. Angelo is fondly remembered by extended relatives and friends both locally and in Greece. Angelo worked in kitchens when he came to Canada, even owning his own restaurant for a while. His food was legendary, with his mac and cheese being requested the most by his grandchildren. Angelo was a very kind and patient man who loved his family, being with his friends, soccer, his cat and a good joke. He acquired many nicknames from his children over the years with the name “Mangelo” sticking, as Angelo was just too much “man” to just be called Angelo. Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 5 – 9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, Guelph Line on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Angelo’s family would like to thank Dr. Kouroukis and all the doctors and nurses that looked after him at the Jurvinski Cancer Centre. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in lieu of flowers in Angelo’s name to The Canadian Cancer Society or The Heart and Stroke Foundation and will be sincerely appreciated.
