Condolences

Condolence From: RW
Condolence: Frank was a truly and thoroughly kind person - disarmingly so. He was THE poster person for a constant smile. I was a bit of a SAM loner and, for lack of friends, always sidled up to Frank and Cam for lunch in the cafeteria. They played a push the penny across the table game practically everyday complete with extra point attempts. Frank would constantly ask me "so,-----, what do you think about the Paris peace talks?" Obviously unforgettable. Several years later I saw him again at one of his house parties - he was so welcoming.

Thanks Frank, for the kindness, the smiles, the sincerity, and for giving me my lifelong point of reference for consideration of others. I am still learning about what for Frank was simply innate humanity.

Condolence: I saw this posting today. I’m saddened to hear of Frank’s passing in 2017. I know it’s 2020 now, but I feel I had to leave a message to say how much of a wonderful person Frank was knowing him in public and high school (Sir Allan MacNab). Frank was always laughing and he was a joy to be around back then. I saw him after high school a few times when I came back to visit my parents. Frank was among a large group of friends that all knew each other. I smile now thinking of him. He will be sadly missed.

Condolence: To Anne, and family, and friends of Frank: We are all heartbroken at the loss of Frank; such a giving, loving, humorous, down to earth, friendly, and talented human being. I met Frank when I was 17, at HCI, and we have remained friends for 44 years. I feel like I have lost my brother. It was an honour and a privilege to call him my friend for all these years. He will be so missed. Thanks for the memories.

Condolence: I have retained exceptionally warm memories of Frank since we shared the same music classes and band practices at MacNab. I moved to Toronto our last year there and then eventually to Philadelphia for the past 25 years. While I had not seen Frank since those high school days I have very distinct recollections of his musical aptitude and his acerbic, perceptive wit. When I saw his accompanying photo here I was taken back to his evocative, engaging smile and infectious joie de vivre.
I have carried his impact on me for 45 years and will continue to pay tribute to him with much gratitude

Condolence: My deepest sympathies to all that had the pleasure of knowing Frank. He was an original MacNab and HCI pioneer.
Many memories from a time that has passed way too fast. It was an honour to be best friends with Frank in those crazy years growing up in Hamilton. My years in Montreal have left me wishing I would have reached out more often, but I always had a sweet spot for Frank in my memory and I will listen to his music with a tear in my eye.
Rest in peace old friend.

Condolence: Dear Anne, Astasia, Remi and Family
My heart is broken, Frank was a great man!

I knew Frank from High School, his friend, Cam Whiffing and I dated. We then met again when he was head of Geography at Barton where our three kids went. I was chaperone with Frank and teachers on a few New York trips. One of those trips, Astasia was with us. I also played baseball with Frank when we re-connected again.... we have been to see Frank play a few times. He truly was a genuine caring loving man! He will be missed but forever in our hearts! I wish I could come and give you all a big hug, but it will not work out this week.
Peace & Love to all ... forever in my heart
Karen Johnson (Wallace)

ps.. his legacy as the best mentor will live on in the hearts of all XO

Condolence: My deepest sympathy to Frank's family in hearing of his passing. I will always remember Frank's great smile all through attending Chedoke Public School and Sir Allan MacNab Secondary School. Frank, your name is now written in the Lamb's Book Of Life, the greatest book to have your name written down in.
