It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Maria Pettorossi in her home on Monday, December 18, 2017, in her 76th year. Beloved wife of the late Pasquale Pettorossi. Loving mother of John and his wife Lorrie, Marcello and his wife Nubelia and Robert and his wife Nancy. Proud Nonna of Adam, Christian, Evan, Matteo and Tiago. Beloved daughter of the late Salvatore and Lucia Deluca. Dear sister of Filomena, Antonia, Domizia and the late Anna of Italy. Dear sister-in-law of Angelo and Michelina Pettorossi, Carmelo and Antonietta Pettorossi, Anna and Rino Verrecchia and their families. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews and family members in Italy. Maria will be remembered as a loving mother and Nonna who most enjoyed being outdoors in her garden and with her children and grandchildren gathered around her table for a family meal. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Friday, December 22, 2017 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Prayer Vigil 8:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, 304 Highway #8, Stoney Creek, on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery, Stoney Creek. If desired, a donation to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated by the family.
