Obituary for Robert Charles Leggat

LEGGAT, Robert
Our family is deeply saddened to announce the passing of a dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. He will be remembered for his integrity, Christian faith, humble spirit, strong work ethic, and love of family. Bob was a passionate and accomplished athlete and was inducted into the McMaster University Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding contribution to both the football and basketball teams during his four years. Beloved husband of the late Carol for 71 years. Devoted and loving father of Terry Snyder (Wayne), Marilyn McFadzean (Doug), Cheryl Leggat, Roy (Patty) and Paul (Doria). Dear grandfather to 18 grandchildren, Jaime O'Coin (Chris), Jeff Snyder (Steph), Carol Inwood (Kevin), Scott McFadzean (Rox), Amy Coulter (Colin), Rob Leggat (Kristy), Brett Leggat (Sam), Todd Leggat (Ashleigh), Bram Leggat (Lori), Ashley Williams (Jeremy), David Hamilton (Siobhan), Lori Domanico (Adam), Lindsay Hamilton, Lesley Hamilton, Deanna Hamilton, Jason Leggat, Maddy Leggat and Brooke Leggat, and 16 great-grandchildren. Bob will also be dearly missed by his brothers Don (Audrey) and Doug (Maryella). The Leggat family would like to thank the doctors and staff of The Brant Centre, Appleby Wing, for their kind and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to World Vision or the Salvation Army. A private family service will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017. (Arrangements entrusted to SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, BURLINGTON 905-632-3333.)
