Leona Anderson (nee McKay)
May 17, 1927 – December 4, 2017
Peacefully on December 4, 2017 at Idlewyld Manor. Leona is predeceased by her husband of 60 years William (Bill) and her daughter Joanne Mary Tanner (Stephen). Leona is survived by her daughter Christine, her loving grandsons Jamie (Sara) and Thomas and son Jeffery (Joanne).
Leona was born and raised in Dunnville but made her home of 58 years in Burlington where she and Bill raised their family.
Leona loved photography and was passionate about traveling. Together Leona and Bill saw the world. They travelled from one side of Canada to the other as well at Europe, Alaska, and other U.S. destinations. Leona loved the Caribbean and Cuba which held a special place in her heart. Leona had a full and wonderful life and she will be greatly missed by those she leaves behind. Special thanks to the staff of Idlewyld Manor for the kind and loving care mom received while in your care. You ladies really make a difference.
Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Thursday December 7 from 3-5 p.m. where a Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday December 8 at 10:30 a.m. Interment Burlington Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, donations in memory of Leona to The Diabetes Association or The Canadian Cancer Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
