Surrounded by his family at Joseph Brant Hospital on Thursday, November 23, 2017 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Mary Ellen (nee Murray) for 61 years. Devoted father to George (Marilyn), Lana Schroeder-Wilk (Ronald), Andrea Schroeder, and Stephanie Wilson (Mark). Cherished Grandpa of Peter and Christopher Schroeder, Erica, Gillian and Ryan Wilk, Keily, Liam, and Keiran O'Neill and Gramps to Ryan and Justin Wilson. Eddie will be missed by his siblings Herman (Grace), of Oakville, Ronald, of Regina, the late Norman (Barbara), of Ottawa, Richard (Marion), of Chatham, Anne Floyd (Mike), of Oakville and Donald (Judy), of Toronto. Uncle Eddie will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.

A retiree of Alcan Aluminum after 39 years. Ed was a long-time member of the Burlington Curling Club, St. Christopher's Anglican Church and the Probus Club of Burlington Lakeshore. In 2016, he received his 50-year member pin from the Masonic Lodge, AF&AM#712GRC.

Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333) on Monday from 3 - 5 and 7 - 9 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Christopher's Anglican Church (662 Guelph Line, Burlington) on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 11 a.m. For those who wish memorial donations to Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation or West Plains Food Bank c/o St. Christopher's, would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
