Obituary for Isobel Hepburn Scott (Jackson)

SCOTT, Isobel Hepburn (nee Jackson)

November 8, 1927 – November 3, 2017

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Isobel H. Scott with her family by her side. Born in Glasgow Scotland of the late Thomas and Jeannie Jackson, and beloved wife of 54 years to the late James Scott (2002). Isobel is survived by her daughter Carol and son-in-law Lionel Coleman. As a loving Nana she leaves behind her granddaughters Carey Abma, Lindsey Bruce (Ryan), and Julie Coleman (James Stevens) and great grandchildren Lily and Brennen Bruce and Linden and Aubrey Stevens. Isobel was predeceased by her siblings Margaret, Tommy, Ena and Betty, her son Clinton Scott (1976) and granddaughter Amy Coleman (1995). The family immigrated to Canada in 1956. Mom never lost her Scottish accent but always considered Canada to be her home. Isobel worked at Morgan’s, Robinson’s and The Bay in various positions, her first being a switchboard operator for Morgan’s and her last as a Buyer’s Assistant for The Bay. Jim and Isobel retired to Vancouver Island in 1991 and often wintered in Indio, CA. After Jim’s passing, Isobel returned to Brantford, Ontario in 2003 to be close to her family, for which we will be eternally grateful. Cremation and private family interment have taken place. The family would like to express their gratitude to family and friends, who enhanced Isobel’s life by simply being a part of it. A special thank you to the staff of Creekway Village for their care and compassion over the past 2 years. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from 3-6 pm. For those who wish, donations in memory of Isobel to the Trillium Gift of Life would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
