LONNEE, John James 1941-2017
Born in Windsor, Ontario on December 20, 1941 to the late Ernest and Lucille Lonnee (nee Drouillard). We sadly announce the passing at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 in his 76th year. Beloved husband of Shultzie Annabelle (nee Reading) for 54 years. Loving father of Claudine (Allan) Wylie, Mark (Susan), Chantelle and Matthew (Lianne). Cherished grandpa of Samantha (Shaun), Katelyn (Sean), John James, James, Joshua, Annabelle, Jaden, Maddison, Macy, Cali and Neena and dear great-grandfather to Violet. Brother of Mary Jo (Stan) Hamelin, Beverley Merritt, Geraldine (Clare) Richardson, and Susan (Ronald) George. Will be greatly missed by his dear friend Wayne (Donna) Hill. John retired from Dofasco after 30 years of service and enjoyed working with everyone at Fortinos on New Steet for the past 16 years. He will be remembered for his active involvement with the Burlington Minor Hockey League and the Burlington Lacrosse League spending past years as a coach and referee. John had a love for many sports cheering the Toronto Blue Jays, Buffalo Bills and the Toronto Maple Leafs on through many seasons. John also enjoyed the Doffasco retirement golf league. Many happy memories were made with family and friends fishing and spending time during summer vacations at Clearwater Lake, Cooper's Falls, Ontario and during fall trips with friends to Myrtle Beach, SC. John was loved and will be greatly missed by many. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Raphael’s Roman Catholic Church, 4072 New Street, Burlington on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 11 a.m., followed by a reception in the church hall. Private interment at Greenwood Cemetery. If desired donations in memory of John may be made to The Canadian Diabetes Association.
