Obituary for Giuseppe "Joe" Borrelli

It is with heavy hearts the family announces the unexpected passing of Giuseppe on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the Hamilton General Hospital in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Palmina (nee Benincasa) for 60 years. Loving father of Mike, Mario (Annie) and Mikey (Melissa). Greatest nonno in the world of Daniel, Lauren and Matthew. Cherished brother of Luigi (late Francesca) and Vincenza Manarino. Brother-in-law of Nadia Mauro (Vincenzo), Eva Galli (late Angelo) and Vanda Grano (Enzo). Predeceased by his siblings Rosa Guadagnolo (Michele), Domenico (survived by Emma), Eugenio (Elena), Francesco (Rosina) and Giovanni (Maria). Predeceased by brother and sisters in law Giovianni Benincasa (Clara), Francesco Benincasa (Antonia) and Mario Benincasa. Also predeceased by his parents Michele and Teresa Borrelli and parents-in-law Vincenzo and Agata Benincasa. Missed also by many nieces, nephews, extended family and countless friends in Canada, U.S.A, France and Italy. Giuseppe was a proud member of the MSP club and a dedicated parishioner of Incarnation, never missing a service. He loved his garden, pasta, tomatoes, wine and cooking. He will be remembered for his kindness and above all, the love he had for his family. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Friday, September 29, 2017 from 2-5 and 6-9 p.m. with Vigil Prayers at 3:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Incarnation of Our Blessed Lord Roman Catholic Church at Nash and Barton Street, Hamilton on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 9 a.m. Entombment to follow at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery, Mud Street East, Stoney Creek Mountain. If desired, memorial contributions to Incarnation Parish would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
