De Simone, Giuseppe "Joe" (1931-2017)
Peacefully passed away early Monday, September 18th, 2017 at Juravinski Hospital in his 86th year surrounded by his family. Devoted husband of his loving wife of 59 years, Anna, loving father of John (Angela), Isabella (the late Enzo) Filice, Frank (Angela) and Teresa (Anthony) Pellegrino. Cherished Nonno of Joseph, Cristina, Sonia, Daniel (Diana), Frank, Nicholas, Marcus, and Anthony. Predeceased by his parents Giovanni and Isabella and stepmother Vittoria De Simone and by his in-laws Alfonso and Teresa Mastroianni. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Salvatore and Lina, the late Francesco and Rita, Angela and Rosario Olivito, the late Caterina and Giuseppe Barberio, the late Teresina and Giuseppe Durante and the late Rosina and Giovanni Allevato. Dear brother-in-law of the late Carmine (Ida) Mastroianni, Fillipina (Mario) Calabrese, Maria (Silvio) Veltri, Luisa (the late Pasquale) Mastroianni, Settimia (the late Steve) Corcione. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends in Canada and Italy. Giuseppe was a dedicated employee of 36 years at Robertson Building Systems. Avid fisherman, hunter, especially mushrooms, and enjoyed his vegetable garden. He was selfless and not only helped his family but was there for his many relatives and friends without hesitation. Special thank you to Dr. Leong and staff as well as Clarissa and the Bayshore Staff. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Wednesday September 20, 2017 from 5-9 pm and Thursday, September 21 from 5-9 pm with a Prayer Vigil at 7:30p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, 304 Highway #8, Stoney Creek on September 22, 2017 at 9:30 am. Interment Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery.
